He was a proud Navy Veteran, having served in World War II, he worked as a mechanic at Mabe Cartwright Motors in Welch. He retired in 1984 after working for U.S. Steel in Gary WV for many years. He loved old cars and was an avid N.A.S.C.A.R. fan. He enjoyed wood working and was an accomplished gardener. He was devoted to his Family and Friends.
