Born December 3, 1957, in Richlands, Va., he was the son of the late Jesse and Jeanette White Brown. He was a former resident of McDowell County, a carpenter, and a coal miner. He was a resident of Mercer County since 2000, and he was of the Protestant faith.In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Nathan Sparks, Jim Sparks and Bill Sparks. Survivors include his wife, Jennifer Kibbey Brown of Princeton; two daughters, Amanda Brown of Elizabethtown, N.C., Ashley Brown of Princeton; two sons, Brandon Brown and Matthew Brown both of Princeton; four sisters, Sam Groff of Danville, Va., Loretta Dillon of Greensboro, N.C., Ruth Chaney, Elby Roberts of Jewell Ridge, Va.; four brothers, Donald Sparks and Glen Sparks both of Danville, Va., Bob Sparks of Knoxville, Tenn., Lee White of Statesville, N.C.; a special friend, Betty Jean Jennings of Matoaka.
