"William Ward "Bill"Jobe In the early morning hours of Sunday, May 27, 2012, the Lord Jesus, Our Savior called home our dad, William Ward "Bill" Jobe. Bill passed away at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center of Mountain Home, Tenn. after a brief illness of cancer. Bill was 63 years of age and resided in Meadowview, Va. He was born in McDowell County, W.Va. on Sept. 30, 1948; living most of his life in the Jolo, W.Va. and Oakwood, Va. areas, before residing in Meadowview the last years of his life. Bill was a disabled Vietnam veteran. He served two terms in the U.S. Army in the First Calvary Division. Although he seldom spoke of the time he served in the war, he was proud to have served his country. He received may decorated Metals of Honor and continued to be an active member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Welch, W.Va. Bill was also, a disabled coalminer. He worked as a coalminer for many years, employed for Island Creek Coal Company, in Oakwood, for most of those years. Bill was preceded in death by his mother and father, Arthur and Margie White Jobe and one sister. He is survived by his two loving sons, William Ward "Billy" Jobe Jr. and companion, Colleen, of Fallsburg, Ohio and John Edward Jobe and companion Rhonda, of the home; two grandsons, Tyler Jobe of Jonesborough, Tenn. and Garret Jobe of Fallsburg, Ohio; three sisters; two brothers; and a host of many other family and friends. Bill was a loving, kind and generous father, grandfather, brother and friend. Other than being with his family, he loved hunting and fishing. Bill has left our hearts with a void that that will be filled with our loving memories of him. He will be sadly missed by all. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, May 31, 2012, at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, W.Va. at 1 p.m. Officiating the services will be the Rev. Charlie Cooper and Mac Osborne.
