"Mrs. Bertha Mae McVey, 84, of Martinsburg, W.Va., died Saturday, April 26, at her home, while under the care of Hospice."She was the wife of the late Leonard T. McVey.
"Born June 13, 1918, in Anawalt, W.Va., she was a daughter of the late Minter and Bessie Harris Blevins.
"Mrs. McVey was a member of Leetown Baptist Church, Leetown, W.Va.
"Surviving are one son, Leonard Odell McVey of Ijamsville; three daughters, Dorthulia Wines of Hedgesville, W.Va., and May Carlisle and Wilma Rogers, both of Kearneysville, W.Va.; one sister, Opal Alley of Hopewell, Va.; 15 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.
"Mrs. McVey also will be remembered by her friend, Don Thompson.
"Mrs. McVey was preceded in death by infant son and daughter, Mary and Jerry McVey; four sisters, Rebecca Blevins, Maggie Blevins, Charlotte Blevins and Ruth Blevins; three brothers, Will Blevins, Ora Blevins and Les Blevins; and one grandson, Roland McVey.
"The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday, April 28, at Brown Funeral Home, 327 W. King St., Martinsburg.
