"Carl Lee Bailey, Sr., 76, of Iaeger, WV, passed away Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Bowers Hospice House in Beckley, WV."Carl was born December 11, 1939, in Panther, WV, a son of the late Tom and Ethel Bailey of Cub Creek. He was a United States Army Veteran, an engineer for the NW/NS Railroad for 34 years, and a proud member of the Iaeger Masonic Lodge.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters, Yvonne Bailey and Marie Smith; one brother Brooks Bailey; and a special dog Roxie."Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Glennis Kennedy Bailey of the home; two sons, Andrew Short and Loretta Lester of Iaeger, WV, and Lee Bug Bailey and wife Sheila of Horsecreek, WV; one daughter, Leshia Ratliff and husband David also of Horsecreek, WV; two granddaughters, Summer Garlic and husband John of Iaeger, WV, and Brooke Ratliff of Horsecreek, WV, and one grandson, Trey Bailey of Horsecreek, WV and fiancé Abbey Cover of Iaeger, WV; two great-grandchildren, who were his world, Bryson and Sophie Garlic both of Iaeger, WV; a special step great grandson, Jackson Garlic also of Iaeger, WV; one niece, Frannie Rowe and husband Eddie of Beaver, WV; two great nieces Amanda and Chris Bolen and their family from Cool Ridge, WV; and Eden Rowe of Beaver, WV; and his special granddog, Bam Bam. He had many additional grandchildren in his heart, whom were very special to him. He was known as Popaw Carl to everyone who knew him.

"Glennis Gaye Bailey, 82 of Iaeger, left her earthly home on January 17, 2022 for her eternal heavenly home. Born April 17, 1939 she is the daughter of the late Andy and Maggie Kennedy of Horsecreek. She was a 1957 graduate of Iaeger High School. She was married to her late husband, Carl Lee Bailey Sr, for 52 years. Together they ran several family businesses, including the Iaeger Meat Market where they enjoyed serving and helping out the community. She was a well-known cook, who loved nothing more than big family get togethers. To her, family was everything! She was Momaw GG to everyone who was blessed to know her!"In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by one brother: Mansford Kennedy of Horsecreek; three sisterd-in-law: Marie Smith of Panther, Yvonne Bailey of Iaeger, and Dolly Kennedy of Horsecreek; three brothers-in-law: Frank McCoy of Iaeger, Henry Coleman of Childersburg, AL, and Brooks Bailey of Cubcreek.

She had several adopted grandkids whom she loved like her own: Danny and Heather Honosky, Bernie and Sarah Maynard, Stacie Kennedy, Hannah Smallwood, as well as several bonus great-grandkids: Hannah and Addison Honosky, Paisley and Grayson Maynard, Luke Mullins, and Brayden Smallwood.

" He was a residence of McDowell County the greater part of his life. He was a retired employee of the State Department of Highways. He was a member of the Big Jenny Pentecostal Holiness Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Daisy Radford Janney, one brother and one sister.
