"Born in Buchanan County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Workman and Flossie Stiltner Workman. She was a retired dietician and janitorial staff member for the Buchanan County Courthouse. Following her retirement, she was the owner and operator of Sunset Floral.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elbert Vance; infant son, Benny Ray Stacy; two sisters, Francis Kramer and Betty Bailey; and one brother, Noah Lee Workman.
She is survived by one daughter, Dorothy Kay Vance, of Paynesville; one son, Lawrence Elbert Vance and wife, Darlene, of Jewell Ridge; two sisters, Linda Gillreath of Carrolton, GA and Dorothy Stacy of Big Rock; two grandchildren, David Lee Vance and Jessica Lester of Paynesville and Brett Vance of Jewell Ridge.
