Randle served his country for 22 years as a Staff Sergeant for the United States Army, where he was awarded the Bronze Star Medal and the Purple Heart Medal. He served in both the Korean Conflict and World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post 43 of War, WV. After retiring from the Army he was employed by the McDowell County Board of Education for 16 years as a custodian.
