"A funeral service for Mrs. Louise Barger Pates, 78, of Spotsylvania County, who died Friday, March 11, at Medical College of Virginia Hospital in Richmond, will be held Monday at Salem Baptist Church cemetery. The Reverend Kelly Lane will officiate.
"Pallbearers will be Carl S. Pates III, Michael W. Pates, Jeffery Pates, Carlos Williams, Thomas Williams, Wesley Ramsey and Bobby Ramsey.
"Mrs. Pates was a longtime registered nurse and, until her retirement, she served at Mary Washington Hospital. She also had worded at several hospitals in Richmond and Rochester, New York. Seh was a graduate of the Bluefield Sanitarium Nursing School, Bluefield, West Virginia. Mrs. Pates was the widow of Carl S. Pates. She was member of Salem Baptist Church.
"Surviving are three sons, Carl S. Pates Jr and Richard D. Pates, both of Spotsylvania, Thomas Bundy of Rogersville, Tennessee; two daughters, Mrs. Carolyn P. Mathur of Fredericksburg and Ms. Patricia P.
