"Suggested edit: Clarence Brown was the 1st born son of Troy Leftwitch Brown and Alice May Cochran. He was born on 2 Apr 1900 in Pocahontas, Tazewell, Virginia. (some say West Virginia but he was only 2 months old in the Clear Fork, Tazewell, Virginia 1900 census and he put Pocahontas, Virginia on his WWI draft registration)."Clarence started working as a laborer in a Blacksmith shop when he was 19. But by the time he was 30, he was working in the mines. He married Ollie Mae Dehart in 1920 and quickly started a family. They had 9 children: Billy, Jimmy, Clarence Jr, Jerry, Donnie, Bobby, Margaret, Mary and Jack.
"Clarence was able to get an 8th grade education and learn to become an electrician. He continued to work in the mines. Clarence had a stroke and congestive heart failure and finally died from Sepsis. He died in the Lewis Gale Hospital in Salem, Roanoke, Virginia on 9 May 1992. He is buried in the Mountain Valley Memorial Park in Big Rock."
