He was married to Ethel Lee (Jackson) Smith, who survives."Also surviving are a daughter, Donna Jean Smith of Bucyrus, special niece and nephew, Debra and Danny Jackson, five grandchildren and two sisters, Grade Bellow of Michigan and Emma Smith of Florida.

A veteran of World War II, Mr Smith served in the U.S. Army in Burma, India, where he received the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre Ribbon, World War II Victory Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.
"Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Fanning Funeral Home Chapel in Welch with the Rev. Otis Lester officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Bucyrus. Graveside services will be there at 2 p.m. Thursday. Military rites will be conducted by Colonel Crawford American Legion Post 181 with Chaplain Ralph Widman officiating.
