"ALDERSON -- Romeo Earl Cook, 91, of Alderson, formerly of Wyoming County, passed away Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, in a Summers County care facility following a long illness.
"Born May 23, 1913, in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late Burl and Lilly Cook.
"Mr. Cook was a member of UMWA Local Union 7604, District 17, and was a retired miner from
Island Creek Coal with 37 years of service. He loved to hunt and ginseng.
"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Garnet Mae Cook; a son, Harlan
Lacy Cook; a daughter, Joyce Lee Toler; two brothers, Clyde and Ira Cook; and a sister, Mamie
Cooper.
"Survivors include two sons, James Cook of Brunswick, Ga., and Romeo Earl Cook Jr. of Beckley; a
