(Nancy) Owens died soon after the birth of twins sons in 1844. John's second
wife was Celia Ramey, a half-sister of Matthew Ramey. Children by this
marriage were Madison, John P., Martin, Susan and America.
John joined the Confederate Army. Celia had to move in with her half-brother
Matthew until John returned home in 1865. John was in poor health and died
in 1866. Celia then moved the children back to Pike Co, KY. Later, James,
William, Susan and America returned to Wyoming Co, WV where they married and
settled down.
