"OCEANA — Henry Terry Puckett Jr., 82, of Oceana, went to be with the Lord at 4 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2008. He passed away at Appalachian Regional Hospital, Beckley, following a long illness.

"Born Nov. 2, 1925, at Gary, he was the son of the late Henry Terry Puckett Sr. (1893-1964) and Violet A. Adams-Puckett (1908-2006).

"Mr. Puckett was a graduate of Oceana High School, a World War II veteran and a retired foreman of Eastern Coal Corp.

"In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Milton B. Puckett (Deceased).

"Survivors include his wife of 31 years, Verlie Allen-Puckett; five children, Patrick Puckett and his wife, Jackie, of Daphne, Ala., David Puckett and his wife, Lana, of London, Ky., Keith Benge and his wife, Paula, of Chesterfield, Va., Rita Griffith and her husband, Sidney, of Chesterfield and Ladd Jasper III and his fiancée, Sandra Vance, of Oceana; three sisters, Joanne Lawson of Draper, Va., Mary Lou Lusk of Mullens and Anita Toler and her husband, Vaughn, of Madison; and a sister-in-law, Eleanor Puckett of Oceana. "Kenneth Jacob Stafford, 90, of Kopperston, WV passed away on Friday February 5, 2021 at the home
of his daughter in Oceana. He was born on March 25, 1930 in Glen Morrison, WV now known as Sabine,
WV. He was preceded in death by his parents Rev. William L. Stafford and Eliza Blake Hatcher Stafford;
his loving wife of 56 years Erma Lillian Arthur Stafford; a son Randall "Randy" Stafford; deceased
grandchildren Jonathan Tilley, Anthony Tilley and Crystal Sparks Hall; siblings William, Raymond,
Joseph, Thomas, Dennis, Dreama, and an infant sister Iris Ann. Dad was a member of Toneda
Missionary Baptist Church for 50 plus years and served as a deacon, on the Advisory Board, Senior BYF
youth leader, Chairman of the Missions Committee, an usher and a greeter. Kenneth was a US Marine
Veteran, worked at the Ford plant in Detroit, MI, was a coal miner for 40 plus years for Eastern
Associated Coal Corporation's Kopperston #2 mine, a member of UMWA Local 7604, Chaplin of the
Burial Committee, the Mine Saftey committee and umpired youth Baseball games. He loved camping,
fishing, hunting, family get togethers and reunions. He was a good neighbor and friend to many, but
mostly he was a good Christian man that walked the talk and was happy to share his love of what the
Lord had done for him. Enjoy your rewards in Heaven Dad! We were so fortunate to call you daddy and
will see you again. Kenneth is survived by his daughters Lillian (Bill) Tilley of Eccles, Marsha (Tom)
Sparks of Oceana and Sandra (Mitch) Solacz of Prosperity; a brother Rev. James (Ann) Stafford of
Canton, Ohio; a daughter in law Sue Stafford of Oceana; his uncle Jake Hatcher of Princeton; ten
grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren; several nieces,
nephews and many friends. Funeral service will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday February 10, 2021 at
Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Scotty Lusk officiating. He will be laid to rest in Blue
Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct
Military Rites. Friends may gather with the family on Wednesday from Noon until service time at the
church. Pallbearers will be family. He always enjoyed working on the Missions Committee at Toneda
Missionary Baptist Church so In Lieu of flowers please consider donating to Toneda Baptist Church, PO

"OCEANA — Randall K. “Randy” Stafford, 53, of Oceana, passed away on Friday, January 25, 2013, at his home, from a battle with cancer.

"He was born January 28, 1959, in Man, W.Va., a son of Kenneth Jacob Stafford of Kopperston and the late Erma Lillian Arthur Stafford.

"Randy loved to ride his GoldWing motorcycle with his wife Sue. They had traveled to 39 of 50 States in the United States touring the country. He was a member of the Toneda Baptist Church and the UMWA. He enjoyed camping, fishing and hunting with his two sons Patrick and Jared. Randy enjoyed spending time with his granddaughter Jasmine, usually bicycling and fishing. He also volunteered in the past with church youth groups and Sunday school programs, civic organizations such as Oceana Little League, Biddy Buddy Basketball, and the Boy Scouts. He was formerly employed with Arch Coal Inc., Mingo Logan Coal Co., Transervice Inc., Harris #2 Mine, and Itmann Coal Co.

"He was preceded in death by his mother.

"In addition to his father Kenneth Jacob Stafford of Kopperston, he is survived by his wife of 33 years Sue Stafford of Oceana, their two sons Patrick Stafford of Welch, and Jared Stafford and wife Kat of Beckley; one grandchild Jasmine Stafford of Mullens; three sisters Lillian Tilley and husband Billy of Eccles, Marsha Sparks and husband Tommy of Oceana, and Sandy Solacz and husband Mitch of Mt. Hope; a special sister-in-law Lou Blankenship of Oceana who helped with his home health care; special friends Brenda and Frank Jenelos Sr., Frank Jenelos Jr., numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and a host of other loving family and friends.
