"On August 29, 2015, our precious Daddy passed from this life into eternal peace, surrounded by his loving family, to be with his Savior Jesus Christ and the love of his life, his wife of 72 years, Myrtle Workman Bailey"Zink was born August 5, 1919, in Mohawk, WV, a son of the late Theodore and Nancy Jane Cline Bailey. He was the last surviving member of his original family.
"Our Daddy lived an extraordinary life that only he could put into words, which he shared with anyone who would listen. Being the youngest of 8 children, he was the apple of his parents' eyes. He was 16 years old when he opened his first grocery store, at 23 he started a logging business. He met and married our mother, Myrtle, and together they started Bailey Grocery which they ran for 45 years. He was the owner of GEM Trucking with his sons Gene and Zink Jr. He loved life and their home was a haven for all the children, grandchildren, cousins and anyone else who entered their door. He was called up to serve his country during WWII. He was co citizen of the year in 2008 and always displayed his plaque and showed it to everyone. He was a proud resident of McDowell County for his 96 years.
"In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Myrtle Workman Bailey; one daughter, Glenda Bailey; one son, Gene Bailey, one grandson, Nicholas Ryan Akers; one son-in-law, Harold Cline; four brothers, Elliott, Drewey, Noah, and Christian Bailey; and three sisters, Stella Grubb, Gracie Reynolds, and Carrona Davis.

"Gladys Brown, 95, of Cyclone, WV traded her earthly wings for her glorified Heavenly wings and is now
shouting and walking on Streets of Gold on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 in Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV
surrounded by her loving family. She was born March 11, 1922 a daughter of the late Calvin Sr. and Bertie
Daniels Blankenship. Gladys was a faithful servant of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ for sixty-six years,
six months and one day. She was saved by grace on September 13, 1950. This was the birth she
acknowledged with great pride. She loved gardening, canning, cooking, baking, going to church, listening to
gospel music, watching evangelists on her TV, reading her Bible, praying with others and for others and
spending time with her family and friends. She got the most pleasure from talking to others about her Lord.
She was a member of the Cyclone Church of God. Gladys lived her life to serve The Lord and tried her best
to walk as closely as she could with him. She was well known for her "old fashioned stack cakes" and her
"Direct line to the Lord's ears". Her life has touched many. Her prayers went up without ceasing and her
name traveled places her feet never walked. You couldn't outshout her, couldn't outrun her and you
couldn't scare her, for the Lord was her shield, protector and strength. In addition to her parents she is
preceded in death by her ex-husband, the love of her life and father of her children Arthur Brown; a
daughter Juanita Woolwine; granddaughter Koleena "Corky" Parsons; Five great grandsons Gerald "Little
Jerry" Brown, Jr., Cody Blankenship, Joshua Blankenship, Austin Blankenship and John "Little" John"
Brown; sons-in-law Bill "Buddy" Gibson, James White, Ed Norman Murphy, Randy Woolwine, and Bill
Keeney; brothers Riley (Sue) Blankenship, Freeman Blankenship, Lee (Inez) Blankenship and Dewey (Vi)
Blankenship; sisters Freda (Joe) Cook, Brooke (June) Toler, Lula (Ash) Brown and Ida (Garner) Brown; a
special brother-in-law whom she loved and held near and dear to her heart Arnold Brown; her best friend,
mentor, prayer warrior and pastor she was saved and baptized under Rev. Stollie Parsons; and Juanita Toler
whom she loved and thought of as a daughter. Gladys is survived by her children Kenneth (Hilda) Brown of
Kopperston, Sue (John) Vigil of Indian Creek, Peggy White of Cyclone and her loving daughter and caretaker
whom she also lived with Betty Murphy of Cyclone; a brother Calvin (Betty) Blankenship, Jr. of Lewis burg;
19 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; 21 great great grandchildren; and a host of other loving family
and friends. She got the most pleasure from talking to others about her Lord. A celebration of her life will
be held at Noon on Monday, March 20, 2017 at the Cyclone Church of God, Cyclone, WV with Rev. Emma
White officiating. Entombment will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV...."
