"Born Dec. 2, 1928, at War, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Cecil Smith and Victoria Schrader-Smith-Miller and her stepfather, Mike Miller.
"Mrs. Graham was a member of the Matheny Church of God and the Greater Cumberland Baptist Church, Hopkinsville, Ky. She enjoyed embroidery, making beaded necklaces, reading her Bible, quilting, sewing and going to church and being with her family and friends.
"In addition to her parents and stepfather, she was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin B. Graham (1916-1975), and a grandson, Max Hagerman.
"Survivors include a son, Rev. Easter was born April 11, 1925, in Sun Hill, W.Va., the daughter of the late George Harrison and Minnie Pearl Cline Hughes. Her caring and compassionate nature led her to the field of nursing, receiving her degree February 1, 1947. She was a Registered Nurse, working most of her life in Huntington, retiring from the Huntington State Hospital. She was a proud member of the Huntington Chapter No. 8 Order of the Eastern Star and served as a U.S. Cadet Nurse. Also preceding her in death was her husband, Dr. L. Walter Adkins Jr.; a son, Bradford Hughes Adkins; and a sister, Hazel Belcher; infant sisters, Marie, Sylvia, Shildria Magdalene; and two infant brothers, Michael and Mickael Hughes. She will lovingly be remembered forever by her daughter, Deborah L. Ross and husband Clifton Adkins of Chesapeake, Ohio; her son, Charles L. Adkins and wife Cheryl of Huntington; two grandsons, Brian M. Ross and fiancTe Joni Hay of Huntington and Christopher L. Adkins and his wife Beth and a great-granddaughter, Kylie Adkins, all of Knoxville, Tenn.
