She put on her angel wings and went to Heaven to meet Jesus.

" Edna was born October 29, 1921 in Buchanan County, Virginia a daughter of the late Mose and Lucinda Lambert Birchfield. She was a retired cook from the McDowell County Board of Education having worked at Panther Grade School for many years. Edna was a child of God and loved the Lord. She was loved and affectionally known as "Granny" to everyone who knew her. She loved her children and grandchildren and enjoyed knitting, quilting, sewing, and cooking for her family. The last time she quilted she made a quilt for each one of her children. Edna is the last surviving member of her original family.

" In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ernest McCoy; a daughter, Patsy McCoy McGuire; five brothers, Jess, Arthur, Everett, Frank, and Donald Birchfield; and one sister, Ethel Birchfield Cook. He was a retired coal miner (the best) and attended the Hanover Freewill Baptist Church of Hanover. He will be remembered by all as a man who lived to give and provide for others. fondly remembered for her joyful spirit, her kind heart,
and her laugher that touched the lives of her family
and friends forever.
