"Gay's artist brush was a crochet hook. She was a master at making the most beautiful afghans and shawls. Many babies have been blessed with the beautiful dresses and blankets she crocheted and trimmed with ribbons and beads. If you where given one of those dresses or blankets, you truly have a treasure to enjoy and cherish. She was so very loving and generous and was always making something she wanted to share with someone she had met.

"We lived in Amonate with Grandma Day (Obra) for several years and I remember going to Grandma Smith's house often, she was my Great Grandmother. My Dad, Earl, was named after Uncle Herbert, that's why his middle name was Herbert. I'll have to check into the info I have on Grandma Smith. I'm sure you heard that Ronnie and his son Jeff, were found dead inside their home several years ago. Don't really know what happened, they think they both died of heart attacks. Phyllis died over a year ago in San Bernardino, CA and Deline and Gay are both still alive. Deline lives in Kingsland, Georgia and Gay lives in Pahrump, Nevada. My mother was Mildred Cook, she was the daughter of Ray Cook and Gertrude Stinson. Her sister, my Aunt Delores, currently lives in Tacoma, WA. My brother, Steven Day, lives in Ryland, GA and has two sons, Steven Day II and Christoper Day. Also remember going to Aunt Hazel's when we were little. Growing up in Amonate was something special looking back at all the good times compared to the way things are today. We went back to Amonate before we moved to Washington and practically all of the houses have been torn down. I'm sure you already know that Floyd Day's father was Samuel Day and that he died of a gunshot wound. Found his death certificate on a Kentucky website. As mentioned, I'll look again into Grandma Smith.
