Folk Funeral Home of Williston, SC is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Swiney passed away Sunday, June 15, 2008."Born in Commonwealth (sic, Commonwealth Park), Virginia, she was a daughter of the late Adron and Lula Miller Swiney. Mrs. Swiney was a member of Christ Catherdral in Iaeger, WV and retired as a LPN from Doctors Memorial Hospital in Welch, WV.
"Survivors include a sister, Patty S. (Jerry) Brewster of Williston and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a brother Willie Swiney."

"...Lydia Carpenter Fields was John's 1st wife. My great grandmother was his 2nd. I find all kinds of information about his first wife, but nothing about his 2nd. I know her maiden name was Louthian, and I know her parents' names, but can't find her name. (She and John got together sometime after 1903 and before 1907 when my grandmother was born. She died in childbirth in 1909 as did the baby girl- John came in from the fields and found her and the baby dead on the kitchen floor with my grandmother in her arms). The reason I know there were 2 different wives is they both gave birth to a son in the same year. (Jessie Fields and Clint Louthian). The family story is my great grandmother gave birth to my grandmother's half brother illegitimately and her father raised him for a few years until he died, then he went to live with 2 old maids until he turned of age to leave home..."
