"PRINCETON - Robert W. Riffe, 74, a retired master sergeant, of Route 1, Box 21, Jera K Estates, Glenwood Addition, died Saturday, Nov. 7, of natural causes at a Beckley Hospital."Born Aug. 2, 1913, at Hanover, he was the son of the late Robert W. and Clara England Riffe.
"Mr. Riffe was a retired 30-year Marine Corps master sergeant serving during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church at Princeton.
"He was preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Martin and Willie Pritchett; and four brothers, Booker, Cooper, Crit and Ray Carl Riffe.
"Survivors include his wife, Nellie S. Taylor Riffe; two stepsons, Harmon W. Simpson of Charlotte, N.C., and Dwaine W. Simpson of Pembrook Pine, Fla.; a sister, Maryco Bailey of Oceana; a brother, Eugene L. Riffe of Dover, N.H.; seven stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren.
"Services will be Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Burns-Wornal Chapel of the Memorial Funeral Directory on the Athens Road in Princeton with the Rev. Bill Johnson officiating. Burial will be in the Iaeger Memorial Cemetery at Roderfield...."
