"RODERFIELD — Lois Jean Falvo Robertson, 62, of Roderfield, went to be with the Lord, January 15, 2009, after a long illness. Born May 31, 1946 in Stephenson, W.Va., she was the daughter of Nawawsa (Tootsie) Falvo of Roderfield and the late Rex Falvo. She was a loving and precious daughter, wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed. She was a homemaker and an exceptional crocheter and quilter. She was a member of the Roderfield Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her father, Rex Falvo. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 21 years, Nathan Robertson of Roderfield; her only child, Toni Guella and husband, Michael of Roderfield; her precious granddaughter, Kellie Blankenship and husband, Brian of Welch; one sister, Vicki Elswick and husband, Joe of Tennessee; two nephews, Bobby Joe Elswick and wife, Terri of Tennessee and Alan Elswick and wife, Candy of Princeton; three stepchildren, Jeff Robertson and wife, Marleen of Kentucky, Jenny Lovely of Kentucky, and Lynn Burchell and husband Todd of Kentucky; and five stepgrandchildren. "RODERFIELD — Rex Falvo, 83, of Roderfield, went to be with the Lord on April 10, 2007, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, Va. from a sudden illness. "Born Aug. 23, 1923 in Welch, he was the son of the late Gasper and Rosina Gigliotti Falvo. He was a lifelong resident of Roderfield, a faithful member of the United Methodist Church for 56 years, honorary member of the Roderfield Volunteer Fire Department, a retired employee of U.S. Steel Corporation with 40 years service, retiring in 1983. He was a wonderful loving husband, father, and grandfather. "In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Albert Falvo. "Survivors include his wife of 61 years, “Tootsie” Falvo; two daughters, Lois Jean Robertson and husband Nathan of Roderfield, Vickie Elswick and husband Joey of Speedwell, Tenn.; a special granddaughter, Toni Guella and husband Michael of Roderfield; two grandsons, Bobby Joe Elswick and wife Terri of Lafollette, Tenn., and Alan Elswick of Princeton; a special great granddaughter, Kellie Blankenship and husband Brian of Welch; and a brother, Tony Falvo and wife Stella of Princeton. "Tootsie was a resident of Roderfield for the past seventy years. She was always active in the community, contributing to many different organizations. She helped establish the Roderfield Volunteer Fire Department and served as its president since 1970. She was also the President of the Roderfield Women's Club. She was the owner of Falvo's Fabrics in the late 1970s and Tootsie's Snack Bar in the early 1980s before she retired. She was a member of the Roderfield United Methodist Church for the past seventy years, and the North Welch Church of God for the past year. Tootsie never met a stranger, she had a heart of gold and was always there to help anyone in need. She will truly be missed by her loving family, abundance of friends and her community.
