"Mary Hylton Puckett, 78, of Salem, passed away on Tuesday, June 14th, 2016 in Salem."Born Nov. 11, 1937 in Coalwood, WV, she was the daughter of the late Raymond Hylton and Josie Sheets Hylton. Mary was also preceded in death by: her husband, Dodge Puckett, Jr.; three sisters, Wanda Hylton, Lorraine Rose and Regina Adams; and a brother, John Hylton. Prior to retirement, Mary was a secretary at Lewis Gale Medical Center for 19 years. She was a member of the Salem Church of Christ and enjoyed crafts, jewelry making and spending time with family and friends.
"Survivors include: her daughter, Denise Sexton and husband Brian; her son, Greg Puckett and wife Charlotte; two granddaughters, Courtney Logan and Jamie Sexton; two sisters, Phyllis Novak and husband Joe and Edie Spencer; a brother; Harold Hylton; many nieces and nephews; and very special friends, H. O. Bowman and Jenet Robertson.

Duvall, 85, and Mrs. Johnnie Duvall, 78, both of Bluefield, VA; who were riding in a car which swerved to the right crossing the center line in front of a pickup truck drievn by Glen D. Ford, 48, of Box 34, Welch, his wife Annie Ford, 45, was a passenger in the truck.
"The Fords and the Duvalls crashed head-on and Duvall was pinned in his vehicle for more than a hlf hour before state troopers and rescue technicians removed him. He was pronounced dead at Bluefield
Sanitarium.
"Duvall's wife, Annie (sic, this was Ford's wife; Johnnie was Duvall's wife) died about three hours later at the hospital.
"The Bluefield Rescue Squad and the Appalachian OH-9 Service transported the injured to the hospital.

" Two Welch residents were involved in a car-truck accident Thursday morning on U.S. Route 52 near Bramwell, which killed a former Iaeger woman and her husband.
"Killed in the accident were Albert H. Duvall, 85, and Mrs. Johnnie Duvall, 78, both of Bluefield, VA; who were riding in a car which swerved to the right crossing the center line in front of a pickup truck drievn by Glen D. Ford, 48, of Box 34, Welch, his wife Annie Ford, 45, was a passenger in the truck.
"The Fords and the Duvalls crashed head-on and Duvall was pinned in his vehicle for more than a hlf hour before state troopers and rescue technicians removed him. He was pronounced dead at Bluefield
Sanitarium.
"Duvall's wife, Annie (sic, this was Ford's wife; Johnnie was Duvall's wife) died about three hours later at the hospital.
"The Bluefield Rescue Squad and the Appalachian OH-9 Service transported the injured to the hospital.
"Mr. and Mrs. Ford were admitted to Bluefield Sanitarium and are in satisfactory condition. Ford suffered leg injuries and face lacerations. His wife was treated for a fractured left ankle.
"State police have filed no charges.
"Mr. and Mrs. Duvall' bodies wre taken to the Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger. Mrs. Duvall is a Iaeger native. Arrangements are incomplete."

"Joint funeral services for Albert H. Duvall, 84, and his wife, Johnnie Phillips Duvall, 79, of Rt. 1, Bluefield, VA, who were killed Thursday in a two-vehicle collison on U.S. Rt. 52 near Bramwell, will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Fanning Funeral Chapel in Iaeger with Rev. Oliver Roberts, Rev. Lloyd Griffin and Rev. Martin E. Potter, Sr. officationg. Burial will follow in Iaeger Memorial Gardens at Roderfield.
"Mr. and Mrs. Duvall were married in July and were traveling to Iaeger to look at a house trailer when the car in which they were riding was nvolved in a colison with a pickup truck. Two occupants of the truck were hospitalized but not seriously injured.
"Duvall was born in Ashe County, N.C. and was a son of the late Marshall and Sarah Duvall. He was a member of the Chruch of God in Abbs Valley, VA. He was also a treired miner and member of UMWA Local 6193.
"He is surved by one daughter, Mrs. Anthony (Pearl) Wysocik of Baltimore, Md; one son, James Walter Duvall of Bluefield, Va.; one brother, Harvey Duvall of Anawalt; two sisters, Lizzie Gravely and Emma Buckanan, both of Big Four; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
"Mrs. Duvall was born in Tennessee and was a member of the Church of God on Rt. 52 in Iaeger.
"She is survived by two sons, Carol Phillips and Earl Phillips, both of Iaeger; one daughter, Mrs. Levi (Aline) Long of Iaeger; 13 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren..."
