Alfred Lane was born in NC in 1828 and was son of Alexander and Ann
Lane. He married first married Margaret Green, daughter of Joshua and
Elizabeth Green. His brother, John Lane, married Margaret's sister, Stacy
Green. Alfred and Margaret Green Lane had two sons, Alexander Martin and
Simeon J. Lane. Margaret died about 1854, perhaps while giving birth to
Simeon. Per this account, Simeon died on 11 Jan 1908 by being dragged by a
horse.
