He was a former maintenance worker with the McDowell County Board of Education, and was a Korean veteran of the US Army. He was a member of the Hemphill United Methodist Church.
"Frank touched many lives in his community of Hemphill, and was a loved and respected resident of McDowell County and Hemphill. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Tilda Edgell Rushbrook; and a brother Richard Rushbrook."Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Deborah Hill Rushbrook of the home; two step daughters, Davina May and husband Allen of Beaver, WV, and Valerie Hill and Gene Thomas of New Market, TN; four brothers, John Rushbrook of El Paso, TX, Jerry Rushbrook and wife Cookie of Wilkesboro, NC, Harry Rushbrook and wife Cathy of Asheboro, NC, and Kirby Rushbrook and wife Mai of Augusta, GA; two sisters, Sharon Rushbrook, and Charlene Clayton and husband Denny all of Welch; four grandchildren, David May, Kimberly May, Kelsey Hill-Gammon, and Tori Thomas; 1 great grandchild Liam Thomas; special nieces Crystal Green, and Lesia and Virginia Martin and daughter Autumn; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
