"HAMPTON, Va. - Hanzel C. "Hans" Graham, lieutenant colonel, U.S. Army (retired), 75, died Friday, Nov. 10, 2006. "Col. Graham was born at Basin to the late Dea and Mary Lambert Graham. "He had resided in Hampton since 1972. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army for 26 years, including the Korean and Vietnam Conflicts, and was a member of the 82nd Airborne Division. He was a member and past chairman of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the 82nd Airborne Division Association. After military retirement he was a life insurance agent with Lincoln National until becoming a licensed real estate agent in 1982. Hans sold real estate with L&M Realty and Abbitt Realty, retiring from that business in 2002. "Survivors include his wife, Barbara Graham; three sons, Gary Graham of Hampton, Robert Graham of Anchorage, Alaska, and Scott Graham of Hampton; two grandsons, Jason Graham of Hampton and Colt Graham of Anchorage; three granddaughters, Christina Graham of Coeburn, Va., and Amber and Chelsea Graham of Hampton; a brother, Freeman Graham, and three sisters, Geraldine Daniel, Lena Graham and Jacqueline Daugherty, all of West Virginia; and his special friend, Clarence Hunter. "A service to celebrate his life, which consisted of a fly-over, was 10 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in the Mausoleum Chapel at Parklawn Memorial Park with full military honors..."
