"Phillip was a former coal miner with 25 years of service, retiring as a certified electrician, a member of UMWA, was a former employee of Talon Manufacturing, was a member of the Alpoca Pentecostal Church of God and attended The Mullens Pentecostal Church. In his leisure he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family. He especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren and was a U.S. Army Veteran.
"In addition to his parents, he is also preceded in death by two brothers, Glen Adkins and Boyd Walls, and a son-in-law, Mark Browning.
"Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 53 years, Arlene Bishop Walls; two daughters, Donna Browning of Beckley and Tina Compton and her husband, Carl of Alpoca; one son, Brian Walls and his wife, Regina of Hillsborough, NC; one sister, Elivian Walls Sizemore of Stephenson; four brothers, James Walls of Benton, WA, Ray Walls and his wife, Kathy of Basin, Jack Walls and his wife, Judy of Stephenson, and Carl Walls and his wife, Patricia of Stephenson; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
