"Guido Ernest Flaim, 86, of Corinne Bottom passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at his residence following a long illness."Born May 3, 1929, in New York, he was the son of the late Ernest Eugene Flaim (1899-1975) and Mary Rossi-Flaim (1904-1968).
"Mr. Flaim was a 67 year resident of Corinne Bottom, was a member of the First Church of God, South Mullens, and was a former brakeman for Norfolk & Southern. In his leisure he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening.
"He was a 1947 graduate of Mullens High School where he participated in baseball and football. Later in life he was inducted into the Mullens Athletic Hall of Fame.
"In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by an infant brother (Deceased) and his brother and best friend, Raymond Flaim (1930-2011).
"Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 59 years, Daisy "Bessie" Simpson-Flaim of Corinne; two daughters, Debbie Flaim-Baker and her husband, Mark Baker of Virginia and Charlotte Flaim-Lusk and her husband, Greg Lusk of Corinne; and one son, Timothy A. Flaim and his wife, Cheryl Flaim of Lewisburg; five grandchildren, Christopher, Michael, Jennifer, Brian, and Amy; three great grandchildren, Rowen, Madison, and Jacob.
