"PRINCETON — Dovie Marie Puckett Lankford, 82, of Princeton, formerly of Mullens and Covel, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Loving Hands Adult Care Facility on the Airport Road, Bluefield, following a long illness. "She was born March 28, 1929, in Maxwell, Va., she was the daughter of the late James Walker Puckett and Katherine Jane Harman Puckett. "Dovie was a member of the Free Methodist Church in Princeton. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Dovie had retired with 16 years of service with the Wyoming County Board of Education serving as a cook for the schools in Herndon. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Brady E. Lankford, her only son, James Brady Lankford; two sisters, Evelyn Puckett Davidson and Francis Puckett Whitt along with three brothers; Earl, James Walker Jr. and Eugene Puckett. "Dovie will be lovingly remembered always by her three daughters; Mrs. George (Cathy) Stevenson of Princeton; Mrs. Chris (Debra) Milam of Wendell, N.C.; and Mrs. Roy (Judy) O’Neal of Mullens. Eight grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; Mickey & Mona Stevenson of Locust, NC; Mrs. Billy (Deanna) Peaden, Christy, David & Garrett of Middlesex, NC; Mrs. Chris (Michelle) Quinn, Steven & Caleb of Alpoca; Chris & Sharonee Milam, Darius & Shawn of Wendell, NC; Roy & Andrews Yates-O’Neal of Cedar Falls IA; Mrs. Jesse (Kaitlynn) Redden and Amelia of Princeton; Mrs. Larry (Tabatha) Cox of Princeton; Chris & Missie Sizemore and Brady of Peterstown; one brother, Fred Puckett of Pounding Mills, VA; and a daughter in law, Darene Lankford of Princeton.
