Born April 13, 1919 in Wyoming County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Albert Cline and Judah Blankenship Cline. She was a resident of Bluefield since September 1998, residing the greater part of her life in Roderfield. She was a member of the Big Sandy Church of God. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Howard Shannon in 1997; one son, Wendell Shannon; two brothers, Connie Cline and James Wannie Cline; one half brother, Rhannis Cline; four sisters, Mary Cline Spratt, Janice Cline Toler, Athleen and Kathleen Cline; and two half sisters, Helen Cline Moore and Corrine Cline. "Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker and had lived at Coal Mountain for 33 years. Hazel was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great- and great-great-grandmother; sister, aunt, and friend. "She was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, Gussie Morgan. Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her grandparents, Spicie and Pern Carter; Joseph and Lovinne Walls; stepfather, Joe Browning; three brothers, Donald and Rondel “Ripple” Browning, and Ardell Walls; two sisters, Betty Woolum and Opal Lester; two sons-in-law, Berthal Kenneda and Roy C. West; and her son’s fiance, Joanne McEneany. "Hazel worked in Elkton, Md., in 1944, as a factory worker rubbing ammunition bullets.
