"INDIAN CREEK -Tex Hatfield departed this life Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at the age of 53 years, six months and seven days at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. "Born Ap-ril 26, 1952, at Welch, he was the son of the late Bernie Hatfield and Geor-gie Hatfield of Coal Mountain. "Tex was a coal miner, lifelong resident of Wyoming County and of a non-denominational faith. He was loved and will be missed by many. "In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Tiffany Perdue. "Those left to cherish his memory are his mother, Georgie Hatfield of Coal Mountain; his fianc?e, Anne Marie Mitchell of Indian Creek; a son, Zackery Hatfield at home; three daughters, Rebecca Perdue of Indian Creek, Amanda Hatfield of Sutton and Makayla Hatfield at home; two stepdaughters, Andrea Mitchell and Whitney Mitchell, both at home; six brothers, Curley Hatfield and his wife, Pam, of Matheny, Darrell Hatfield and his wife, Annette, of Castlewood, Va., Vernon Hatfield and his wife, Ann, of Winchester, Va., Rex Hatfield and his wife, Julie, of Coal Mountain, Jerry Hatfield and his wife, Robin, of Coal Mountain and Terry Hatfield and his wife, Sharon, of Brenton; five grandchildren, Ashley Trent, Dustin Trent, Keith Trent and Ernie Perdue, all of Indian Creek, and Tyrone Hatfield of Sutton; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. "A celebration of Tex?s life will be 2 p.m. Sunday at House of Refuge at Indian Creek with the Rev. Leonard Sizemore and Ted Damron officiating.
