"FANROCK — Hope Faith Jackson Mullins, 86, of Fanrock, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 21, 2011, in Raleigh General Hospital following a short illness. "Born May 4, 1925, at Mile Branch (Fanrock), she was the daughter of the late Albert and Peggy Adams Jackson. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. "Hope was a homemaker and was a lifelong resident of Wyoming County. She enjoyed sewing in her earlier years, spending time with her family, listening to Bluegrass, country and gospel music. She was a faithful listener of the “Good News Hour,” “Larry and Greta Bolen,” and “The Songs of Zion with Hilda Perry” every Sunday morning. Also, Hope was an “American Idol” fan. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Howard “Buster” Mullins, in 1999; three brothers, Norman Jackson, Millage Jackson and Junior Jackson; and three sisters, Theda Lewis, Faye Rodgers and Joy Mason. "Those left to cherish her memory are two sons, Gene “Moon” Mullins and his wife, Annie, of Brier Creek and Howie Mullins and his wife, Juanita, of Saulsville; a sister-in-law, Maxine Stone and her husband, Jack, of High Point, NC; a brother-in-law, Frank Mullins and his wife, Sue, of Fort Wayne, Ind.; three grandchildren, Crystal Greer and her husband, Eddie, of Premier, Rebecca Aliff and her husband, Donald, of Fanrock and Howie Mullins II and his wife, Amy, of Beckley; three stepgrandchildren, Lisa Christian and her husband, Kevin, of Princeton, David Fortner and his companion, Tina, of Gilbert and Angel Allen and her husband, Jeffrey, of Saulsville; and three great-granddaughters, two of which were named after Hope which made her very proud, Erica Nicole Aliff and Emily Hope Aliff, both of Fanrock, and Rileigh Hope Mullins of Mullens. "A celebration of Hope’s life will be 1 p. m. Tuesday, May 24, 2011, at Calfee Funeral Service Chapel, Pineville, with Brother Ernest Francis officiating. Burial will follow in Jackson Cemetery, Mile Branch on Indian Creek...."
