"RAGES SLUSS WILL BE BURIED TODAY"Pioneer Civil Engineer Died Sunday Morning At His Home Near Tazewell; Aided in Building Railway
"Funeral services will be held at his home four miles north of Tazewell this morning for Rages Sluss, 80, pioneer civil engineer who died at 4 o'clock Sunday morning at his home. Burial will follow in the Litz Cemetery.
"Mr. Sluss had a paralytic stroke Thursday night and pneumonia developed.
"The deceased was a native of Tazewell county. His wife died several years ago. He is survived by 10 children.
"Mr. Sluss married Nannie Litz on September 22, 1886, to which union the following children were born who survive: G.W., G.G., R.M., and Mrs. J.H. Peery, North Tazewell, Va; E.B. Sluss, Royalton; Mrs. C.M. Armbrister, Northfork, W.Va.; Mrs. Jimmie Bowyer, Matoka, J.F. Sluss, of Bishop, Va.; M.H. Sluss, Jesse, W. Va., and Dr. J.A. Sluss, Bristol, Tenn.
