"MULLENS — Betty Jane Greene, 82, of Mullens, and most recently a resident of Wyoming Nursing Rehab Center, New Richmond, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 7, 2011, in a Beckley hospital following a long illness. "Born March 26, 1929, at Wyco, she was the daughter of the late Charles Watt and Bessie Lane Kirk Rhodes. "Mrs. Greene was a homemaker, a graduate of Mullens High School, and a member of the Welton Bible Chapel. In her leisure, she enjoyed outdoor activities which included camping and water skiing and spending time with family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and nanna. "In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by four sisters, Latha Winkler, Margaret Lawrence, Francis Moorefield, and Irene Harper; and seven brothers, Santford, Paul, Harry, Raymond, Theodore, Baby James, and her twin brother, Bill Rhodes. "Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Carl M. “Trigger” Greene; one daughter, Kathryn Renae Belfiore of Welch; five sons, Carl M. Greene, Jr., of Virginia Beach, VA, Michael Ray Greene of Washington, James T. Greene of Virginia Beach, VA, Daniel L. Greene of Knotts Island, NC, and Mark Alan Greene of Richmond, VA; two sisters, Sally Cash of Nashville, TN, and Shelby Roberts of Wooster, OH; and seventeen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and a fifth great-grandchild expected soon. "Services will be 1 p.m. Monday, April 11, 2011, at Welton Bible Chapel, Allen Junction, with David Pollock officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Peace Mausoleum, Beckley...."
