"Mr. Elswick was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in Japan and Germany, and a coal miner for Eastern Associated Coal at Kopperston. "In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Rickey Elswick; and three brothers, Eugene Elswick, James ?Pug? Elswick and Frank Osborne. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Dorothy Mae Brown Elswick; three sisters, Dovie Rollins and her husband, Charles, of Oceana, Corine Blankenship of Kopperston and Dorothy Gayhart of Beckley; two brothers, Bobby Elswick and his wife, Mary Ann, of Milton and Ralph Elswick and his wife, Verna, of Huntington; a dear sister-in-law, Hazel Elswick of Kopperston; several nieces and nephews; and a host of friends.
