"Art "Jr." Morton, 32, 2109 Miller Ln., Johnson City, died with his nephew, Michael Morton, Saturday, September 10, 2005, as the result of a motorcycle accident. He was a loving father, son, brother and uncle. Mr. Morton was a native and lifelong resident of Johnson City and was a son of Art and Myrtle Marie Laughren Morton. He was a 1991 graduate of David Crockett High School. Mr. Morton served in the U.S. Army and the Army National Guard in the 776th Maintenance Division. He was preceded in death by his great-aunt, Stella Morton, and his great-grandfather, J.C. Morton. In addition to his parents, survivors include his two daughters, Stella Jane Morton, Elizabethton, and Madison Starr Morton, Johnson City; his fiancee, Kristina Potter, of the home; his twin brother, Carl Gary Morton and wife, Janet, Johnson City; two sisters, Angela Depew and her husband, Mark, Unicoi, and Amy Morton and her fiancee, Randy Nickles, Johnson City; paternal grandmother, Martha Morton Harrell, Jonesborough; maternal grandparents, Carl and Myrle Roberts Laughren, Erwin; two nieces, Danielle Depew and Brittany Depew; several aunts and uncles; and special friends, Skip and Becky Seeley.
