"KOPPERSTON — Larry Gene Marcum, 68, of Kopperston, WV, left this world after a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, February 3, 2011, in the Beckley Veterans Administration Medical Center. Larry opened his eyes in heaven and heard the Lord say to him, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” "He was born November 16, 1942, at Peach Creek, WV, a son of the late James Harrison and Ruth Aliene Thornhill Marcum. "He was a retired coal miner, member of the Joseph Baptist Church, and a U.S. Air Force Veteran. "In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother Rebecca Marcum, grandfather George Riley Marcum; and a grandson, Brian Joseph William Marcum. "Larry loved going to nursing homes and spreading God’s word. "Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 46 years, Jane Bernice Fisher Marcum; two sons, Harry Gene Marcum and wife Tammy and Riley Waitman Marcum and wife Angela; two daughters, Martha Jane Marcum and companion Thomas McKinney and Mary Ruth Marcum and companion Kenny Acord; a brother, George Marcum; a sister, Faye Marcum and husband Paul; Larry’s most precious gift, grandchildren Rebecca, Kanisha, BreAnna, Joey, Kaila, Dana, Katie, Megan, Kathy, Zachary and Tommy; and a host of other loving family and friends. "Jane Bernice Fisher Marcum, 76, of Kopperston, WV, passed away on Saturday, March 28, 2015, in
Mullens, WV, surrounded by her family. She was born on August 20, 1938, in Oceana, WV, a daughter of
the late Waitman Wayne and Mary Jane Rollins Fisher. Mrs. Marcum was a lifelong resident of Wyoming
County. She was an active member when health permitted at Joseph Baptist Church, Lynco, WV. In
addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Larry Marcum; a grandson Brian Marcum;
sisters Dreama Bailey, Vivian Vinson, Atas Fisher, Florence Maxey, Lorene Hatcher, Dora Fisher and her
twin Beatrice Fisher ; andinfant brother. Survivors include four children Harry (Tammy) Marcum of
Mullens, Riley (Angela) Marcum of Kopperston, Martha (Thomas) McKinney of Basin and Mary Marcum
of Oceana; grandchildren include Rebecca (Brad) Cooper, Kanisha (Joseph) Lusk, Breanna (Preston)
Brooks, Ronnie J. Lusk II, Kaila Marcum, Dana Shrewsbury, Kaytlin Marcum, Megan Marcum, Katherine
Marcum, Zachary Marcum, Tommy and Noah McKinney; great grandsons Shaun and Jaden Lusk; and a
host of nieces nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at noon on
Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at the Joseph Baptist Church, Lynco, WV, with Pastor William Cook officiating.
