"PRINCETON, W.Va. - Abert Steele 83, of Princeton, WV formerly of Steeles, was called home to be with our Heavenly Father on Thursday, August 28, 2008, and to join his loving wife, mother, father, sisters, grandson and granddaughter-in-law who were waiting for him there for a joyous reunion.
"Born February 7, 1925, at Hanover, WV, he was the son of the late Arthur and Minnie Vance Steele. Mr. Steele was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and wonderful friend to all who had the pleasure of spending time with him. He proudly served his country during the Second World War in the Pacific Theatre.
"Mr. Steele had made his home for several years at Guilford Lake, OH, where he was employed in Salem, OH, as an auto mechanic for Sam Brown Dodge. After retiring he moved to Reedsburg, OH where he resided for two years before returning to WV in 1983.
"Preceding Mr. Steele in death was Naomi, his loving wife of 40 years; his mother and father, Arthur and Minnie Steele; sisters Virgie Justice & Essie Mullens; his oldest grandson and his wife, Mark and Janice Hohider, and Mr. Steele's second wife, Lois.
"Left behind to cherish his memory are daughters Sue and husband Lonnie Shinn of Princeton with whom he made his home, Betty and husband Edward Sheridan of Welch, Kathy and husband Richard Martin of Salem, OH; son Harold Steele of Mooresburg, TN, daughter-in-law Patricia Steele, Rogersville, TN; sisters Nellie Worthington of Welch, Hazel Bailey of Welch, Stella Browning of Justice; twelve grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. He will be truly missed by all those who loved him so dearly in life.
"A celebration of life will be held at Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, September 1. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, September 2, at 11a.m. with Speaker Lonnie Shinn, son-in-law of the deceased, officiating at the funeral home chapel. Burial will be at Steeles Cemetery, Steeles, WV, where Military Graveside services will be conducted..."

"Nellie Worthington, 83 went to be with our Lord the evening of January 17, 2019 following a long illness. She was a former resident of Davy WV, residing on the Welch-Pineville Road WV. Born November 11, 1935, in Steeles, WV she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Minnie Vance Steele of Steeles WV.
Nellie was a beautiful, loving wife, mother and grandmother, sister and friend. Her life was devoted to building and nurturing her family. She loved family time and laughing, the holidays and preparing the meals were very special to her. She will be missed by all, including her sister Hazel Bailey of the Welch-Pineville Rd."In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, one brother; her lifelong husband, Orlando Clay “Jack” Worthington. Both were Christians, so they are once again together. In the last few days Mom talked of Dad, wondering if he would be there to help her climb the stairs she was envisioning. I am sure he was.
