"PIERPOINT — Jimmy Lee Rinehart, 63, of Pierpoint, formerly of Mullens, departed this life on Saturday, January 15, 2011, at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, after a long and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. He was surrounded by his loving family who held his hand as he took his final breath."Born April 17, 1947, at Mullens, he was the devoted son of the late Vescar and Garnett Tolliver Rinehart."Jimmy was a loving and compassionate man whose greatest achievements in life were his two wonderful daughters and two precious granddaughters who were his world. His compassion was exhibited by his mentoring and encouragement to young golfers and softball players and in the loving way he cared for his elderly mother during the last years of her life."A coal miner for 40 years, Jimmy was last employed by Brooks Run Mining as superintendent at Wyoming #2 Mine at Marianna. He became disabled in 2009. He was instrumental in opening Wyoming #2 and often referred to it as “his baby.” He enjoyed his job and respected and appreciated the many men who worked so hard to open the mine and make it a success."Jimmy was well known as one of the best golfers in the area and played as much as possible. His love of the game enabled him to meet many wonderful people through the years, many of whom became lifelong friends."He was a 1966 graduate of Mullens High School, a member of the Mullens Masonic Lodge #151 A.F. & A.M., and was an avid fan of Wyoming East sports. He loved attending summer league softball games at Fitzpatrick Park and the Miners’ baseball games in Beckley."In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening, riding his grandbabies on the four-wheeler, and reading his Bible. One of his greatest pleasures was attending church whenever possible with his children at Bible Baptist Church at MacArthur."Though he was ready to enter into Heaven, Jimmy wasn’t ready to leave his adoring family who will miss him beyond words."In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Norman Dale (Sammy) Rinehart; a sister and her husband, Sharon and Billie Canada; and a great-niece, Crystal Canada."Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 30 years, Mary Jo Huffman Rinehart; two daughters, Jessica Osborne and her husband, Troy, of Beckley and Jennifer Myers and her husband, Heath, of Beckley; and two granddaughters, Kendall Nicole Osborne (Pawpaw’s best friend) and Karlie Mashelle Osborne (Pawpaw’s Sugar Bear)."He was anxiously awaiting the birth of his grandson, Paxton Lee Myers, on February 26, 2011. Others survivors are his mother-in-law, Athaleen Huffman; aunts, Marie Humphries of Medina, Ohio, Virginia Tolliver of Florida, and Glenna Tolliver of Fayetteville; and sisters-in-law, Mickie Grindstaff and Doug of Beaver, Barbara Kiser and Eugene of Mullens, Donna Mitchell of Beckley, Tina Chandler and Larry of Church Hill, Maryland, and Sue Weston and Jack of Hendersonville, N.C."He will be sadly missed by nieces and nephews and their families, Debby and Tim Whitt, Sara Whitt and Conner, Brook and Allery Lockridge, Alexia, Kylah, and Jacelyn, Mackie, and Sandra Canada, Dwight and Chasity Canada, and Jacob, Doug Daniels, Kelli and Chad Mann, Rachel and Reagan, Andrea and Steve Trantham, Hannah and Trey, Joshua Santiago, Stephanie and Chris Clark, Beau, Caleb, and Evan, Heather and Mike Johnson, Haley and Michael Heath, Brandon and Lisa Mitchell, Courtney and Grayson, and Morgan, Monica Short, Kathy and Robert Hedden, Christopher and Maegen, Laura and Jeff Phelps and Noah, Leslie Wing and Steve, Zack and Ethan, and Nick and Matt Weston."Services will be 12 noon Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at Mullens Pentecostal Holiness Church, with Rev. Lewis Arnold and Pastor Thomas Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley..."
