"Mr. Canada served in the U.S. Army at the end of WWII as part of the occupying forces in Japan. He was a coal miner for over 20 years in Wyoming County, prior to moving to Christiansburg, Va., where he was a barber for many years under the name of “Red Canada’s Barber Shop.”
"He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Maxine S. Canada, son, Lloyd H. (Marcia) Canada of Stanardsville, Va., son, Jerry L. (Lane) Canada of Roanoke, Va.; five grandchildren, Michelle C. (Greg) Proffitt, Heather C. (Doug) Nothstine, Benjamin B. (Denise) Canada, Jennie C. (Brian) Weeks, Adam H. (Melanie) Canada; and eleven great-grandchildren. Mr. Canada has one surviving brother, Ulvert Canada of Grantville, Ga.
