"PRINCETON — Calvin W. Belcher Sr., 83, of Princeton, formerly of Belcher Mountain, died Friday, October 12, 2007, at his home following a long illness.

"Born October 7, 1924, he was the son of the late James Henry Belcher (1888-1960) and Martha Jane Lane-Belcher (1889-1926).

"Mr. Belcher was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II earning the purple heart after being wounded in action. He was retired from the McDowell County Board of Education and was a member and Elder of the Little Vine Regular Baptist Church.

"He was preceded in death by seven brothers: Oscar Belcher (Deceased), Wade Belcher (Deceased), Morgan Belcher (1917-Deceased), Hiller C. Belcher (1910-Deceased), Clark Belcher (Deceased), Leslie Belcher (Deceased), and Tom Belcher Belcher (Deceased); and three sisters: Hazel Belcher-Lester (Deceased), Ruth Belcher-Blevins (Deceased), and Edith Belcher-Green (1909-Deceased).

"Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth George-Belcher (1926-1943) whom he married on April 29, 1943 in Superior, McDowell County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, McDowell County, WV, 1943, Page 487, Application Date: April 26, 1943); one son, Calvin W. "Born November 24, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Alex George (Deceased) and Edith Horne-George (Deceased).

"Mrs. Belcher was a homemaker and was a member of the Little Vine Regular Baptist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved being surrounded by her family.

"She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin W. Belcher Sr. (1924-2007) whom she married on April 29, 1943 in Superior, McDowell County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, McDowell County, WV, 1943, Page 487, Application Date: April 26, 1943); and her brother, Homer George (Deceased).

"Hash, Bryan William, 82, services will be at 11 a.m. Friday in the First Church of God in Corrine. Burial will be in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity. Mr. Hash died Wednesday morning in a Beckley hospital after a long illness. Born April 15, 1896, in Virginia, he was a son of the late Elic and Gency Dalton Hash. A lifelong resident of Mullens, Mr. Hash was a member of the First Church of God in Corrine, a retired coal miner, member of the United Mine Workers of America and a World War I veteran. Survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Harold Hause of Pittsburgh, Pa., Mrs. Sam Lambert of Pineville and Mrs. David Monday and Mrs. Elva Jackson, both of Mullens; four sisters, Mrs. Virginia Nance, Mrs. Jack Faircloth and Mrs. Hazel Woody, all of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Mrs. J.V. Halsey of Sophia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

"In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Elva Jackson; and a sister, Reva J. Monday.

"Those left to cherish her memory include two sisters, Freeda Lambert and her husband, Dr. John S. Lambert Jr. of Pineville, and her twin sister, Daline Hause of Mullens; three nieces, Donna Carte of Mullens, Dana Craig of Huntsville, Ala., and Monica Lambert of Boone, N.C.; one nephew, Mike Monday of Mullens, and several great nephews. She will be missed by her numerous friends at Second Street.

"PINEVILLE — Dr. Sam Lambert, 81, of Pineville, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at his daughter's residence in Boone, N.C., following a long illness.

"Born July 8, 1930, in Wyoming County, he was the son of the late John Samuel Lambert Sr. (1903-1984) and Lettie May Goode-Lambert (1908-1999).

"Sam was a member of the Pineville First United Methodist Church. He was a former Mayor of Pineville, former President of the Pineville Lions Club and Pineville Area Chamber of Commerce, and was a practicing dentist of 58 years. He was a 1948 graduate of Pineville High School, a graduate from West Virginia University and a graduate of the University of Louisville School of Dentistry. Sam served as a Base Dental Surgeon at Locklead Air Force Base in Marietta, Ga. His main interest was vegetable gardening and the practice of Lambert & Bowling, DDS.

"Survivors include his wife, Freeda Hash-Lambert of the residence; a daughter, Monica Lambert and her husband, Loren Petrof, of Boone, N.C.; two grandsons, Joseph Samuel Petrof and Lambert Jonathan Petrof, both of Boone; a brother, Jack Lambert of Pineville; and a sister, Christine L. Lambert-Ferguson of Richmond, Va.

Freeda was a longtime member of the Pineville United Methodist Church, she served the Lord many years, by helping with many of the churches ministries. Throughout her years of service to our community, Freeda served in countless civic organizations and clubs. She loved making crafts and going out and sharing her creations with everyone. She loved cooking, but most of all she was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be missed by all that knew her.

"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 58 years Dr. Sam Lambert, her sisters: Reva Monday, Geraldine Jackson, and Daline Hause. Her nephew Mathew Lambert.

She along with her twin sister Geraldine were well known for the many church hot dog sales that they helped organize.

"In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Harold H. Hause; two sisters, Reva J. Monday and her twin sister, Geraldine Jackson.

"Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Dana Craig and her husband, Frank, of Huntsville, AL; three grandsons, Hal David Craig and his wife, Maghan, Brandon Craig and Chad Craig; one great-granddaughter, Addison Lynn Craig; one sister, Freeda Lambert and her husband, Dr. John S.
