She and her late husband had retired to Port Orange, Fla., and had returned to the Beckley area since 1992. "She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil Ray Wood in 1995. Mrs. Wood was also preceded in death by brother, K.V. Shrewsbury, and by sisters, Avis S. Houchins and Bettie Wrenn. A very special person in her life, Frank Fragile, preceded her in death. "Survivors include her children, V. Ray Wood II and his wife Linda of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Cathy Leigh Bsharah and her husband Andrew of Beckley; Robin Kaye Wood of Beckley; a sister, Billie S.
