"Sue Kilby Myers THOMASVILLE -- Mrs. Myers, 87, a resident of 207 Jones Circle, died Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at the Hospice Home at High Point. She was born in Wilkes County on February 6, 1922 a daughter of James G. Kilby and Ann Elledge Kilby and had been a resident of Thomasville for most of her adult life. She attended Woman's College, now UNC-G and was employed as a secretary at Thomasville Furniture Industries until her retirement. She was a member of Memorial United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Austin Elliott Sunday School Class, the United Methodist Women, and the Singles Are Special Club. She was also a member of the Bent Twig Garden Club and The Thomasville Woman's Club. She was a former volunteer with Meals On Wheels. On August 14, 1942 she was married to Otis William Myers who died on June 13, 1992. Surviving are a daughter, Beverly Myers of Thomasville, three sons, Bill Myers and wife Kathy of Charlotte, Jim Myers of Clio, SC, and Tom Myers and wife Jane of Raleigh, two brothers, Ralph Kilby and wife Sylvia of Concord and Grady Kilby and wife Eleanor of Winston-Salem, five grandchildren, Kim Sprague and husband Kevin of Huntersville, NC, Susan Ervin and husband Cale of Cornelius, NC, Bryan Myers of Chapel Hill, Elisa Myers of Raleigh, Laura Myers of Raleigh, and three great grandchildren, Mackenzie Ervin, Clayton Sprague, and Garrett Sprague. She was preceded in death by a brother, Don Kilby. Funeral services will be conducted on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. at Memorial United Methodist Church by Dr. Ivan H. M. Peden and Rev. Peggy A. Finch. Burial will follow in Holly Hill Memorial Park cemetery. ..."

"Ms. Beverly Ann Myers, 70, a lifelong resident of Thomasville, passed away on Monday, January 15, 2024 at the Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. She was born on June 17, 1953 in Thomasville to the late Sue Kilby Myers and Otis William Myers. Beverly graduated from UNCG in 1975 with a degree in Interior Design. She went on to work for Myrtle Desk Company (now Haworth Inc.) in High Point for 43 years and ultimately retired in 2018. She was a lifelong member of Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville where she was very active. At the church, she helped with the Alter & Arts Committee and the Women of Faith group. She also was very involved with Girl Scout Troop 64 at First UMC in Thomasville. In her spare time, you could find Beverly working in her flower beds or yard and spending time with her friends and family. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Jim Myers."Surviving are her two brothers, Tom Myers and wife Jane of Raleigh and Bill Myers and wife Kathy of Mint Hill; four nieces, Kim Sprague, Susan Ervin, Elisa Pearson and husband Jamie, and Laura Myers; one nephew, Bryan Myers and wife Amber; several great-nieces and nephews; one uncle, Grady Kilby and wife Eleanor; dear friends, Julie Clinard, Penny Overby; numerous Memorial UMC church members; and her Girl Scout Troop family.
"A memorial service will be held at Memorial United Methodist Church in Thomasville at 1:00 PM, Saturday March 16, 2024 with Rev. Danny Leonard officiating. Inurnment will follow at Holly Hill Memorial Park in Thomasville. The family will greet friends prior to the service from 12:00 till 12:45 PM in the church Enrichment Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be sent to Memorial UMC, 101 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360 or Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292. "PAUL H. METZ, 73, of 103 W. Main St, Fairfield, died Wednesday, April 14, in Gettysburg Hospital."Born Sept. 7, 1925 in Hamiltonban, he was the son of the late Isaac and Minnie Kump Metz. He was married to Judy Lowe Metz.
"Mr. Metz was a charter member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Fairfield, where he served as trustree and as a member of the building committee. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in Patton's 5th Army Quartermaster Division. He was owner and operator of Metz's Hardware, Fairfield, with his wife and son for 31 years. He was formerly employed by Gettysburg Hardware for 18 years. Mr. Metz was a life member of the Fairfield Lions Club.
"Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, David A. Metz of Fairfield; two grandchildren; one brother, Clyde Metz of Cashtown; and one sister, Martha M. Baker of Gettysburg.
"Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 17, at 10:30 a.m , at Fellowship Baptist Church, Fairfield, with Rev. Dr. William E. Burcher officiating. Interment will be in Fairfield Union Cemetery...."
