"Mr. Kilby was born November 27, 1929 in Dunham, KY. He was one of four children of the late James Guy Kilby and Annie Elledge Kilby. Mr. Kilby grew up in the Baptist Home Church in North Wilkesboro. He was a graduate of North Wilkesboro High School. Mr. Kilby retired from Ben Mynatt Chevrolet in Concord after 42 years of employment. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served from 1951 to 1953. Mr. Kilby was a member of the Lions Club, Noon Optimist Club of Concord and the Boys & Girls Club of Cabarrus County. He greatly enjoyed working in his garden.
