OAKVALE — OAKVALE — Ethel Whitt "Sis" Waldron, 83, of Oakvale went to be with the Lord and Savior on Monday, December 2, 2013 at her residence after fighting a courageous battle with Alzheimer's."Born March 15, 1930 in Raysal, W.Va. she was the daughter of the late, Bert Whitt and Laura Rose Whitt. Ethel was a lifelong homemaker who loved taking care of all her family. She had lived in the Oakvale area since 1964.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of sixty one years, Cecil Waldron; and her only son, Ralph William Waldron. Ethel was a loving sister to 17 brothers and sisters.
"Those left behind to cherish her memory are four daughters, JoAnne Thomas of Oakvale, who was her loving caregiver, Charlene Nelson of Oakvale, Ronda Small and husband, Thomas of Princeton, and Angie Woody and husband, Keith of Oakvale; five grandchildren, Michelle Jones of Oakvale, Janet Dobbins and husband, John of Evant, Texas, David Nelson and wife, Crystal of Elgood, Robby Pertee of Elgood, and Kenny Nelson and companion, Sherry of Elgood; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson. She is also survived by two special nephews very close to her heart, Capt. David Whitt of Port Clinton, Ohio and Randy Whitt of Clyde, Ohio; and her special home health caregiver, Frank Kennedy.

"Elsie Mae Whitt Adams departed this life on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at Tazewell, VA following a long illness."She was a twin born May 17, 1932 in Yukon, WV to Bert Whitt and Laura Rose Whitt. She grew up in Raysal, WV and attended school there.
"In 1947 she met and married her best friend and the love of her life, Fred Adams who passed away in 1994. They were together for 47 wonderful years.
"During her lifetime, Elsie was employed by: English Elementary School as a cook; West Virginia Sportswear in Kimball as a seamstress; Deskins Supermarket in the Meat and Produce Department; and by Renfro as a sock sorter. She became disabled in 1984 and retired to a cabin in Paddleforkwith her husband.
"Among her many interests were crocheting, sewing and quilting. She and her husband were famous for the hundreds of handmade quilts they worked on together and which have become heirlooms to her children and grandchildren.
"Her heart always and forever centered around her family. No sacrifice was too great if her loved ones needed her. She was a loving care-giver and tireless supporter, with a zest for life and laughter. Her charm and graciousness extended to everyone she met; cashiers, nurses, waitresses, utility workers, everyone…to whom her last phrase would be: “Now you keep that smile!”
"She was preceded in death, in addition to her parents and husband, by her only son Fred Adams Jr. in 2006; her precious daughter Susie Payne in 2011; her brothers Fred Earl Rose, Ernest Whitt, Daniel Whitt, Douglas M. Whitt, Harless Whitt and twin brother Everette Ray Whitt.
"She will be sincerely missed, but leaves loving and precious memories to us all.
