"A sweet and loving mother and grandmother, Virgie Cline Hunt, 90 of Gilbert, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and to join her loved ones waiting for her in heaven, on Wednesday, July 21st, 2010, from Logan Regional Medical Center.

"Born at Isaban on December 29, 1919, she was the daughter of the late Kenna and Cora Allen Cline.

"In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mont Hunt and her siblings: Rhoda Chapman, Elzora Devoy, Bartley Cline, Lannie Cline, J. B. Cline, and Everett Cline.

"Virgie was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She loved spending time with her wonderful family and friends. She was a homemaker and was a member of the Huntersville Southern Baptist Church and attended the Horsepen Southern Baptist Church. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

"Those left to love and cherish her memory include her son, Bartley (Hazel) Hunt of Gilbert; her two grandsons: Christopher (Helena) Hunt of Chesapeake VA and Curtis Hunt of Gilbert; her brother, Virgil Cline of Tennessee; her two sisters: Magdalene Conkle of Hurley VA and Geneva (Robert) Harvey of Spanishburg; and a host of other dear family and friends.

"Friends may gather with the family, to celebrate Virgie’s life, at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel in Gilbert on Sunday, July 25th from 12 noon to 2 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday, July 25th at the Mounts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ralph Trent officiating.

Raymond "Red" Beverly

PINEVILLE — Raymond “Red” Beverly, 66, of Pineville, formerly of Hemphill, passed away Thursday, August 13, 2009, in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington.

Born November 18, 1942, in Pineville, he was the son of the late Bert Beverly and Esther Cook Beverly. He worked for the City of Welch in the maintenance department for 38 years and was owner and operator of Uncle Raymond’s Bar & Grill, also known as the “Do Drop In,” on the Welch Pineville road. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of the American Legion Post 8 of Welch and the Vietnam Veterans Organization in Welch. He was of the Baptist faith. He was a loving husband, father, brother and friend, and opened his heart to all animals.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers, Douglas and David Beverly, and a sister, Shelby Jean Sites.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Phyllis Robinette Beverly of the home; a daughter, Alicia and her companion Timothy Tilley of Pineville; a sister, Louise Blaylock and husband Johnny Blaylock Sr. of Princeton; and an honorary granddaughter, Madison Atwell of Long Branch.

Funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Sunday, August 16, in the Douglas Mortuary Chapel in Welch with the Rev. Leonard Sizemore officiating. Burial will follow in Brewster Cemetery, Indian Creek.

" Phyllis Jean Beverly, age 70, of the Welch-Pineville Road, passed away after a long, valiant battle with cancer, on November 14, 2019, she finally reached the top of that mountain, while in her home surrounded by her loving family.

"Born October 14, 1949 in Baileysville, WV. She was the daughter of the late Thelma Estep Robinette and John Robinette. She and her husband were the owners and operators of Uncle Raymond’s Do Drop In, on the Welch-Pineville Road.

"In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond “Red” Beverly; one brother, Roger Donald Robinette and one sister, Ina Marie Bowen.

"Forever broken and left to cherish her memory is her daughter, Alicia Altizer and her husband Richard and the center of her world, one granddaughter Kathy Altizer of the Welch-Pineville Road; her “adopted” son and wild child, William Peters of Oceana; her adopted daughter Becky Morgan of Long Branch; special niece Sherry Cantrell and her husband Scratch of Indian Creek, and her BFF, Nancy Lusk and husband Kenneth (#7) of Wyoming; five sisters, Hilda Mitros and husband Dino and Linda Bennett all of Hemphill, Brenda Sopala, Sandra Lane and Janice Harman all of North Carolina; four brother, John Robinette of Keyrock, Russell Robinette of North Carolina, J.B. Robinette of Hemphill and Robert Robinette and wife Geneva of North Carolina.

"Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, November 16, 2019 at 1:00 PM at the Indian Creek Community Church at Indian Creek, with Pastor Scott Cline officiating. Burial will follow at the Brewster Cemetery in Indian Creek.

"Friends may call at the church Saturday from 12 noon until 1:00 PM. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
