"Feb. 23, 1972 -- "JOHN ELSWICK -- John H. (Jack) Elswick, 83, of the Cove area of Tazewell County, a well-known farmer, died Sat. night, Feb. 19, at his home following an apparent heart attack. A life long resident of Tazewell County, he was a son of the late Billy and Louise Vencill Elswick. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Nannie Patrick Elswick; three daughters, Mrs. Henry (Mary) Marrs of the home, Mrs. Howard T. (Louise) Brown of Tazewell, and Mrs. Clarence(Grace) Hall of Richlands; seven sons, William H. Elswick, Stewart A. Elswick, Robert M. Elswick and Walter C. Elswick, all of Rt. 1 Tazewell, James T. (Slim) Elswick and Roy D. Elswick both of Tazewell and Archie Lee Elswick of North Tazewell; two sisters, Mrs. Carrie sheets of Marion Va, and Mrs. Ida Buchanan of Florida; 21 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Mullins Funeral Home Chapel in Richlands with Rev. Fred Wyatt and Rev. Windell Patterson officiating. Burial followed in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill..."
