In addition to his wife he is preceded in death by his wife Peggy Sue Sowards Morgan and his granddaughter Trista Morgan. Survivors include his children Timothy (Behl) Morgan of Randleman, NC, Ricky (Doreen) Morgan of Long Branch, Benny (Angelia) Morgan of Archdale, NC, Sherry Morgan of Long Branch, and Dwayne (Tara) Morgan of Randleman, NC a sister Vinnie Mae New of Gilbert Creek a brother Ernest Morgan of Oceana eleven grandchildren nineteen great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, December 7th at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church, Simon, WV with Pastor Todd Keneda and Bro. Chris Sparks officiating. He will be laid to rest in Morgan Cemetery, Long Branch Mountain, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9 pm on Monday, December 6th at the church. Thomas Christian married Margaret Pine, daughter of Alexander Pine, and
located in Logan Co., WV territory. Their son, James Pine Christian
(1800-1892), was one of the justices who organized Logan Co in 1824 and
Wyoming Co in 1850. James married Mary Ann Moore in 1826 and lived in Logan
Co. Their children were: Rebecca, Patterson, Byron, Martha, Yantee, Holden
and Paren.
Two sons of Byron Christian located in Oceana. Isaac E. Christian, hotel
proprietor, merchant and lawyer, married Louise Justice. He was murdered.
The other son, Bruce L. Christian was a timberman. He married Samantha Cox
(1867-1946). Their children were: Vada, Louise and Kate.

"Mrs. Hatfield was a devoted and lifelong member of the Turkey Creek Missionary Baptist Church. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend to all. Her hobbies and life's enjoyment came from gardening, canning, and going for walks with "the girls".
"Her favorite Bible passage was Isaiah 40:31 – "But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint". We know now that her strength has been renewed and she has mounted up as an eagle with her Lord.
