"Margaret "Juppie" Rose " Hammitt, 72, of Fanrock, WV, passed away on December 2nd, 2019 after a hard-fought
battle with cancer. She went to be with the Lord peacefully, with her loving husband, Allen Hammitt, by her side.
Margaret was born on February 18th, 1947 at the family home in Brier Creek, WV the daughter of the late Burl
Harrison and Inez Florence Stafford Rose. She is a 1965 graduate of Baileysville High School. Margaret started a
career with the Department of Agriculture in Washington D.C., and later worked with C&P Bell in Roanoke, VA.
On August 27,1966, Margaret married the love of her life and best friend, Allen Hammitt. The two were married
for 53 years, and were practically inseparable. They enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family, golfing
and mostly, being together. Not to mention, Westerns and Politics. Margaret is survived by her loving husband,
Allen Hammitt, Sr.; her sons, Allen Hammitt Jr. and his wife Rebecca Hammitt, Scott Hammitt and his fiancé
Lindsay Hernandez; her sisters, Delores Kennedy, Paula Kennedy, Connie Lester and her husband Norman Lester;
her brother, Burl Rose and his wife Anna Rose; her grandchildren, Gavin Hammitt, Ethan Hammitt, Sydney Wray
and Aaron Moore; and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends
whom she loved dearly. A memorial services will be held at 6 PM on Saturday December 7th in the Chapel of
Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Ernest Francis, III officiating. Friends may gather with the
family from 4 PM on Saturday at the funeral home. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. Margaret
will be missed dearly by all that had the pleasure to know her. She was beautiful, sweet and kind. Margaret was a
wonderful wife, perfect mother, great sister, remarkable friend and truly special person. Thanks for all of the
love and support that has been shown to this family throughout this difficult time."

"...I wish I had more info to tell you regarding Adam Harmon but all I have is what was told to my Dad after his mother Ellen Ford Harmon (Adam), Hall (Rush), Johnston (Samuel) passed away. According to my Dad's Aunt Rebecca Ford (George), Adam Harmon disappeared after a visit to see my Grandmother Ellen. I do have a copy of their marriage license which shows they were married at the time of my Dad's birth. My Dad had no knowledge of Adam Harmon or the marriage until he found the marriage license after Ellen's death so you can imagine the shock of knowing he was a legal birth instead of being born to an unmarried Ellen as he was led to believe all his life. "Your web shows info for my Dad as being married to Geneva V....they were divorced (don't know date) and he married my Mother, Audrey Richardson on October 17, 1942 (recorded in Marriage Book No 35 page 66 Mingo Co WV. She was actually 17 years old at the marriage instead of the 20 as stated on the marriage license. Audrey was born at Davy, WV on Dec. 6, 1925 to James S. Richardson and Cosby Lowe Richardson. She died in Crystal River, Fl on August 25, 1993.
