"Donald Pleas Morgan, 73, of Iaeger, WV passed away Saturday, July 20, 2019 at his residence."Don was born June 12, 1946 in Avondale, WV, a son of the late William and Clara Fain Morgan. He was the owner/operator of the Accounting Services in Iaeger and Pastor of the Iaeger Church of God; he performed many funerals, weddings, and baptisms. Don was a board member for the Council of Southern Mountains and a board member for Iaeger Memorial Cemetery. He helped to establish Little League Football in Iaeger and coached baseball. Don was named to the McDowell County Sports Hall of Fame for being part of the staff for the 1979 undefeated Iaeger High School football team.
"In addition to his parents, William and Clara Morgan, Don was preceded in death by four brothers, Curtis, Bill, Duane, and Jim Morgan.
"Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Brenda James Morgan of the home; one daughter, Wendy Galiffo and husband Geoff of Ashtabula OH; one son, Scott Morgan of Iaeger, WV; and four grandchildren, Alex Morgan, Zach Morgan, Jesse Cover, and Abbey Cover.
"Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, July 24, 2019 at 12 noon with Bishop Tim Akers and Reverend Ronald Felts officiating at the Chapel of Fanning Funeral Home in Iaeger, WV. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Princeton, WV. Serving as pallbearers will be Dewayne Dotson, Geoff Galiffo, Scott Morgan, Alex Morgan, Zach Morgan and Jesse Cover.
