"PINEVILLE-Ivalene Trent, 69, departed this life Wednesday, June 4, 2008, at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington following a long illness. "Born February 10, 1939, in Fanrock she was the daughter of the late William and Bernice Barrett Stone.
"Ivy was a homemaker and of the baptist faith. She was a precious and wonderful mother to her children and their spouses and a loving and caring grandma. She loved her brothers and sisters. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends she was everyone's "Maw" and never meet a stranger. "In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Arnold Trent on October 29, 1989; two great-grandchildren, Sierra and Skyler. "Barbara Sue Stone Wheeler, 66, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord August 20, 2018 at
Wyoming Nursing and Rehabilitation, New Richmond, WV following a long illness. Born July 17, 1952 in
Pineville, WV a daughter of the late William and Bernice Barrett Stone. Sue was a member of Faith Baptist
Church of Matheny and a 1971 graduate of Baileysville High School. She was a homemaker and loved her
family very much. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter Chere Lynn Short
which she loved more than life; a brother Jerry Stone; and a sister Ivalene Trent. Those left to cherish her
memory are five brothers Ted Stone of Brookport, OH, Jack (Maxine) Stone of Highpoint, NC, Stanley
(Violet) Stone of Lexington, NC, Major (Kate) Stone of North Ridgeville, OH and Darrell (Robyn) Stone of
Pineville; two sisters Wanda Farley of Pineville and Ruby Sizemore of Lexington, NC; two grandchildren
which she helped raise Kayla (Garrett) Gunnells of Hanover and Garrett (Kimmie) Short of Hanover; three
great granddaughters Allie Sue Gunnells, Bynlee Jade Gunnells and Sophie Lynne Short and another one on
the way; her dog Tim which she loved dearly; and a host of nieces, nephews and family and friends. Funeral
services will be held at 1PM on Thursday August 23rd in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco,
WV with Pastor Johnny Toler officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
Friends may gather with the family from 11AM until time of services on Thursday August 23rd at the
funeral home. Pallbearers will be John Short, Garrett Short, Garrett Lee Gunnells, Duane Farley, Wesley
Stone and Emory Hatfield. We will always be grateful to the nurses, CNA's and everyone at the nursing
home who tried to make her life better. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home,
Lynco, WV."
