The store named changed to Island Creek Stores, where she worked until the store closed, with 49 years of service. She was a graduate of Oceana High School and was a homemaker. "In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Clifton Harry Walls; and a brother-in-law, Robert Carnahan. "Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Jack Carnahan of Oceana; a cousin, Ida Kathleen Weaver of Williamson; two nephews, Mark Walls and his wife, Kathy, of Oceana and C.L. Walls and his wife, Sue, and their children, Patrick, Melissa and Erica, all of Oceana; two special friends, Betty Harvey and Beula Kucek, both of Oceana; several other nieces, nephews and a host of friends. "A celebration of Zola’s life will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Adam Toler Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Erwin Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny..."
